I Must Be in the Ninth Row!
Older T takes to his seat moments before Bob Uecker threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Miller Park for Game 3 of the 2008 NLDS. Older T would be on a hand for an historic occasion, the Brewers first (and only) playoff win since 1982. Ninth row seats for game= $70. Sabathia t-shirt at Kohls= $12. Brewers making playoffs as Yanks and Mets watch from home = priceless.

Octoberfest
Older T, Shira, and Baby-to-be made their playoff debut at Phils 3-1 victory over Brewers. We were a big hit with locals as evidenced by being interviewed twice. I will be off to Milwaukee on Saturday morning! More pictures to follow!

Older T headed to MIlwaukee!!!
Older T will be making his Miller Park debut during Game 3 of the NLDS. He has just booked the flight and Brewers playoff drive awaits. When asked about the trip Shira said,"sure you can go you might not get another chance in your lifetime." She added, "Now I don't have to go on a trip to Milwaukee." Allie and Shira are hopeful they will see game one in Philly on Wednesday.

Lucky Dog 2008
Years ago I played in the A.E. Mascaro Boys Club Softball League. I was on a pitiful 0-7 team. However, each team made the playoffs. As we entered the playoffs, our family got a new dog Tabitha. My softball team won every game of the playoffs with Tabitha in attendence. We dubbed her "Lucky Dog" as we finished as 3-7 cha,ps!
Fast forward to 2008, the Brewers are mired in a slump & coughing away their post season chances. Rit and Erica get a new dog! Upon visiting them the Brew Crew wins Friday night with Lola in attendence. Sunday afternoon, Rit & Erica bring Lola to our parents were C.C. pitches a gem & Braun homers the Brew Crew into the playoffs.
Any Yankee or Met fan who would like to come along for the ride feel free to join the Brewers cheering section!

Pass The Tots

Rich Kosiba, George Wood, Joe Monacco, & Matt Donaldson all joined the ranks of players who have homered for the Friday Night Franchise. Donaldson hit two tots! The team set a franchise record for homers in a season with nine. The record has progressed steadily since 2005 and the franchise will need to add a big bat if they plan on breaking the nine homers in twelve game standard set this season. Mike Sgobbo moved into sole possesion of the career homer lead while Allie Tarantino slid into a tie for second.

Killer Kowalski R.I.P.

Friday Night Softball mourns the loss of wrestling legend Killer Kowlaski. While it is unknown if Kowalski had taken to the karaoke bachelor night circuit like fellow icon Nikolai Volkoff one thing is clear... the Battle Royal in the Sky as yet another indominatable spirit in the ring. Former backyard brawler Richie T could not be reached for comment as he is still busy on honeymoon with his birthday bride Erica. In other obit news, former NBA center Kevin Duckworth passed away earlier in the week.

Rit and Erica Wedding Day Moments Away!
BnB's Congratulates Rich Tarantino & Erica Rodriguez on their forthcoming wedding tomorrow! The memorable is only hours away.
In other news, BnB's ended their season in less than memoable fashion. Despite three hits from the soon-to-be-groom Richie T, BnB's littered the game with untimely hitting and baserunning gaffes in the 8-1 loss. BnB's finishes at 9-3,but winless in their playoff history. Better days lay ahead starting tomorrow with the whiffle ball wedding pre-game!

Game On!

B&B's Friday Night Softball are the 2008 Atlantic Division Champions! Congratulations to the team and to the loyal fans that support them every Friday night. Playoffs begin this Friday at 7:30 vs. Knuckleheads (D'Onofrio). Come cheer on the team as they make a run for the city title. No word yet on Sgobbo's injury but keep checking for updates. See you all at the field!

Duck Farts & Goose Shit
BnB's improved to 9-2 with their 4th gong in five games with an 18-8 win over Beechmont Brews. Mike Sgobbo had two rbi's on two bunt hits until a goose shit on his cleats, he proceded to hit a three-run homer. The good fortuned homerun gave Sgobbo the all-time franchise lead over Allie Tarantino, who had the gonging hit on a duck fart to right. Joey Amori returned to the number two hole with four hits. Frank Arena had four hits, four rbi's, & one home run. Ten of the eleven batters scored a run and all of them avoided the massive dump on the bench made by the flock of geese overhead.
For Artie here is a recap of last weeks loss compliments of Older T:
Knuckleheads ended BnB's longest win streak in recent history at eight. The final score was 12-5 and all five runs were scored by the first three hitters in the lineup. The highlight of the game was when Wood struck out one of Knucklehead's knuckleheads looking.

BnB's Matches Brewer's Current 8-game Win Streak
BnB's matched the Brewers as the hottest team in baseball with their 8th consecutive win and third consecutive gong. BnB's had seven in the first and nine in the third for a 16-4 win over 2007 nemesis Sound Shore. Matt Donaldson and Joe Monacco hit back-to-back homers and Dave Holberman earned co-player of the game honors with 2 hits, a run and an rbi. Frank Arena continued the trend of married men hitting well with 2 hits and 4 rbi. George Wood stayed hot in the five hole and Allie debuted at the #2 spot. Richiro and Foster combined for 5 hits and 4 runs from their usual spots in the lineup. Once again it was defense that won, Older T and Summa rolled a DP with Frank holding steady at first.

State of the Art!
Here is what Artie had to say since not everyone checks the comments:
I am honored and humbled by this truly magnanimus gesture!!! To be included in the FNS Hall of Fame with the likes of Dalbon & Kearns is indeed an honor!!! Playing again with you guys last night was fun (hot as hell but fun)!!! But I am truly sorry to have hit Johnny Mac 3 times in the leg & calf during warm-up tosses. Foster could've saved me from two of them if he could only jump!!! Please pass along my apologies because I don't know if he checks the blog. I know Joey doesn't check the blog so please extend my thanks to Joey for reaching out to the old man for one last kick-at-the-can!!! Of course, now that I have a # 01 B & B's jersey, I can come out of retirement like Michael Jordan if you are ever short players. And only if you are short of players; I DO NOT want to take someone's spot in the lineup!
Congrats once again to Rich for his forary into authorship!! It's pretty amazing to be on the best seller list, not to mention the extra cash that must be flowing in. Richiro, I hope you are buying a round or two at B & B's once in awhile. And for the amazing transformation of Matt Summa, Congratulazioni per il tuo sforzo stupendo, which in Italian means congratulations on such an great effort or in other words, congratulations on losing all that weight (the amount of which will remain a secret). It's nice to see you're taking care of yourself and ultimately, you had a reason to get rid of those awful red pin-striped baseball pants!!!
Good luck the rest of the way men and Allie, thanks for the blog mention; I do check into the blog to see your latest creative efforts. Or is it Rich who does this?? It's probably a cumulative Tarantino effort. Either way, you two are truly entertaining. Oh, and one more thing;
GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!

Game Over.

Ten Snickers for a ten run gong! BnB's defeated Knfuckleheads 18-8 in a brawl filled game. Pre-brawl BnBs was 2-9, they proceeded to bat 16-25 post-brawl to build a three game division lead with 5 games to go. All ten batters had a hit and Matt D. and Allie T each homered. Richie T, Joey A, and Dave F all scored three times. Mike S had four rbi's and was responsible for the controversial DP. As always the fan support was tremendous and vocal in the demanding game.

Is Giambi's Mustache really Giambi's Mustache?
As seen on thecheappop.com "your daily dose of pop culture and mustache envy" on
Wednesday July 9th:

The New York Yankees have jumped on the bandwagon and will distribute over 20,000 fake mustaches before tonight’s showdown against the first place Tampa Bay Rays. The campaign is in support of Jason Giambi trying to earn a spot on the 2008 All-Star Roster in MLB’s Final Vote Contest. So regardless if Giambi and his bert win, the real question is whether or note Giambi is in fact wearing a fake mustache himself or if he is simply borrowing a mustache from a past Yankee legend.
During the 1980’s Steve “Bye Bye” Balboni was nicknamed for his home run hitting but was also known for his below average fielding and above average bristles (Sounds very familiar doesn’t it). Could it be Dale Berra’s stache that is causing this Bronx voting frenzy. Dale is the son of former Yankee great Yogi Berra who has definitly done his share of lingering during the final year of the old Yankee Stadium. One has to wonder if the Giambi ‘stache is really the Alvaro Espinoza ‘stache. Giambi entered Tuesday’s game batting .256 on the season. In Espinoza’s 15 season career he averaged .254. Regardless of whose Major League Mustache Giambi is wearing I will put my despise of the Yankees aside in hopes that the All-Star ‘Stache makes the team (Sorry Mr. Longoria).

Celtics New Big Three

You'd think if you were drafted by the current NBA champs you'd at least get a smile?! It's not like this trio was drafted by perennial lottery team the Clippers. #86 Sasha Tootallowitzki looks like a good post up player to combat Pau Gasoft. By the way, here's hoping Mr. Clutch, James Posey, resigns and doesn't go to Buddha's Lakers.

Snicker Victory Cigar
In a week that saw the Celtics light victory cigars for a 17th time, green continued to be a winning color on Friday night. Richie T. ignited a ten run first inning lead before George Wood even stepped on the mound. GW chipped with three hits and many putouts up the middle. Richiro was one of three two reach base two times in the first inning. Foster and Sgobbo each had a hit and a walk, while Joey made the first two outs. Sgobbo would end up reaching base all five times. Allie T. continued his hot start with three more hits. Johnny Mac and Older T combined for two defensive putouts, one at home with a 9-4-2 relay and the other at first on a line drive DP started at second base. Kosiba and Summa chipped in with three hits each. Richiro preserved the gong with a game ending bases loaded catch.

The Celtics get a Tuesday night Snicker with their 39 point victory over Pau Gasoft serve ice cream and the Lakers for title #17. Paul Pierce was named MVP and joins his rightful place with Celtic greats and is no longer considered the Don Mattingly of the Celts. The title also puts the Celts three ahead of the Lakers all-time.

Take Your Dad to Third base Day
There were plenty of headlines we could've used for Friday Night's victory. "There's a new 01 in Town" or "Who needs Sgobbo?" are just a few. On Father's day we are proud to announce that this week's Snicker-Musketeer Award goes to the Summa's, Danny and Matt. They combined for 2 hits, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and patrolled the left side of the infield. In a game that saw BnB's take sole possesion of first, Allie T. had a 2 out bases loaded hit as he opened the season nine for ten. Joey returned from surgery with 2 hits in the 10-8 victory over Knuckleheads. Richie T, Foster, Wood and Richie K also had multi-hit games, but of course it was defense that won the game. Older T saved one that had a Buckneresque roll past Frank and Foster had a diving game ending catch. Speaking of Dads, hope you are feeling better Skip!
