Sources have told us that Matt Summa's injury prone off season continued this past weekend. According to reports the slugger was injured while cutting an orange during a break in the team's Winter Wii Training Facility in Harrison, NY. The injury does not seem to be serious however there is no word yet on whether the shortstop will be playing next summer with a maxipad on his glove hand.

I would like to comment on the breaking news featured on this website concerning my most recent injury. I would first like to apologize to all of my fans for my careless use of a sharp knife. I would also like to state unequivocally that I will be ready for spring training and I will not be wearing a maxi pad on my glove hand this summer. To show how serious I take this mishap I have decided to start my own charity foundation. The name of the organization is " SBPUASK," which is of course short for "Softball Players United Against Sharp Knives." To donate to the charity please forward all information to mattsumma@gmail.com, thank you for your time and I look forward to producing for all of my fans this summer!
To all past Foresters' Softball players and future B-N-B Softball Players, I want to send along my very best wishes for a Happy & Healthy New Year & I hope you all had a Happy Christmas as well.
As a retired veteran player, may I also say and reiterate (because I've said it before), had we had Matt Summa's play at shortstop during our 1st playoff game, we would have had a better chance of advancing to a 2nd playoff game!!!
Artie and Matt! happy holidays and safe new year from allie T!
artie i wouldve fought for matt to play short in playoff game if we didnt need him at first. i dont think having adam play is what did us in. the fact we didnt play in a few weeks was our downfall. the vultures were fresher and got the jump on us! i really hope you reconsider playing because i will certainly miss you on the team AND i dont want to be the oldest.
be in touch! a.
Allie, a few things; my best wishes to you & yours for a Healthy & Happy 2008!!! I would respectfully disagree with you about the playoff game, but I'm not in a position to question the moves of my manager & general manager. However, I've always felt that once you start tampering with the lineup, moving regulars into different positions, it comes back to bite you. We certainly missed Frankie's bat, but Adam should've played 1st, if he was brought in for his bat. But that's yesterday's news & hindsight is 20-20.
Lastly, will you change the blogspot name so it isn't forester's related?
At present, I am content with my decision to retire from Friday nights. Roger Clemens I'm not, espcially now, but we'll see what happens when I see the NEW B-N-B's lineup!!!
